Please note the following important information from Rabbi Dovid Cohen:
1) You may use your Chametz that was sold through YIWS after 10:30 p.m. Motzei Yom Tov.
2) You can buy Chametz in Jewish owned establishments that only sold Passover products during Pesach and in the following establishments: A & P, Associated, BJ's (chain), Costco, CVS, D'Agostino, Duane Reade, Fairway, Food City Markets, Food Emporium, Gristedes, H & H Bagels, Jubilee Market (Trump), Korean Delis, Pathmark, Rite Aid, Sam's, Trader Joe's, Waldbaum's, Walgreens, Wal Mart and Whole Foods. 3) In addition, the following stores are owned by Jews and their Chametz was sold, but they remained open and sold Chametz during Pesach: Barzini's, Fresh Direct and West Side Supermarket (77th & Broadway). For these stores:
Wait 1 week after Pesach (Sun. night 5/4/08) to purchase bread; Wait 3 weeks after Pesach (Sun. night 5/18/08) to purchase cakes, cookies, pasta, etc. |
