The Young Israel of The West Side

The YIWS Charity Knitting Group was formed to make knitted hats for IDF soldiers, and blankets and other items for former Gush Katif residents. The group meets every 3 to 4 weeks at the homes of various members. Yarn is available and help is provided.

The next Knitting for Charity session will be held on Monday, May 10th, 2010 from 8:00-10:00 pm at the home of Rebbetzin Ruchi Cohen, 680 West End Avenue (93rd Street), Appartment 6a.For further information, contact knitting@yiws.org

Tzuriel Edri, a former resident of Gush Katif, and his kallah, Tamar, receiving a wedding gift from the Gush Katif Bride Project. The gift is an afghan knitted by members of the YIWS Knitting for Charity Group. Members knitted the squares which were then bound into a colorful afghan.
