Although the balloting was extremely close at this evening's Special Membership Meeting, the proposed Constitutional Amendment did not receive the required two-thirds of the yes votes necessary to pass.

Therefore, Article VII, Section 5 of the Constitution of the Young Israel of the West Side will continue to read as follows:

Only a person who has held elected office for at least one (1) year in Young Israel of the West Side shall be eligible for election to the office of President.
